While We Wait

Dear Little One,

It has only been 21 days since our Education day. That being said-time is going by SO SLOW. We aren't sure if we are going to be able to do IVF this month or next which is frustrating but also WE ARE EITHER DOING IVF THIS MONTH OR NEXT. WUT. I can't believe this is real. There are some things going on while we wait for a cycle to start and I am crawling out of my skin waiting so I figured I would write about them.

-I have been reading a book called "It starts with the Egg." Very interesting read about egg quality. FUN STUFF. It really has broken down how hormones and fertility work together with supplements. It also talks about things that could be negatively effecting fertility and how to fix them. I know most people may think that would be torture BUT I am the kind of person who likes to do my research so I have really been enjoying it and making some changes!

-I started taking a new prenatal vitamin along with some other supplements. Currently here is what I am taking everyday with my lunch...OvaVite prenatal w/ CoQ10 enzymes, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin D and fish oil. I don't actually know if they make a difference but I guess they don't hurt.

-I got a call back from my Doctor's office after my appointment and my AMH levels are VERY HIGH. Which also means that I have P.C.O.S and explains why we have not been able to conceive yet on our own. A normal AMH level is 1.0-4.0 and my level is 9.7. Basically what that means is I have a lot of follicles/eggs but the quality of those eggs are not all great. The good news is my body will likely respond well to hormone therapy and they will retrieve a lot of eggs but not all will fertilize or make it to the 5 day mark we are hoping for. Additionally I am at risk for developing OHSS during our treatment so that is something my doctors and I need to look out for.

We are continuing to wait in hope and growing excitement that we will be holding you in our arms very, very soon.
